The Grammy Nominated, iconic underground dancefloor Jazz unit Groove Collective returns! For 3 decades now, Groove Collective has been transcending categories moving listeners' minds and feet. This crew of New York City-based Jazz-Funk-Afro Cuban-Electronic stylistic adventurers continues to lay down grooves that inspire and never fail to synchronize audiences with sound.
Presenting immersive, engaging multi-dimensional jazz music, the Collective met at the core of an international movement to reboot dance music, bringing live instruments back to the dancefloor & hip hop and creative improvisational music to a broader audience.
The Collective first made its mark, performing improvised jazz-funk and deep dance tracks at underground parties in New York in the ’90s with creative turntablists and rappers. The group hasn’t slowed down since that time – displaying a tremendous range, they’ve released club hits, opened for and jammed with James Brown, backed up the likes of the Sugar Hill Gang, and played on MTV's Red Hot+Cool and Gershwin specials.
