Join us at DROM for an evocative evening of improvised music from one of New York's great young jazz voices, New Zealand born Hamish Smith.
New Zealand-born bassist and composer Hamish Smith has been hailed as a modern marvel — one of the great young bassists in the world. He has quickly established himself as of the most in-demand bassists on the international jazz scene, and is known for his rhythmic inventiveness and lyrical approach. Since moving to New York, Smith has performed in several of today’s leading ensembles including Paquito D’Rivera, Miguel Zenon, Jonathan Kreisberg, Jochen Rueckert, Dayna Stephens, Yosvany Terry, Rotem Sivan, Henry Hey, Magos Herrera and The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra.
His long-awaited debut original album, Elsewhere Now, presents a personal and emotionally resonant collection of ten original compositions, written over the course of the past five years. The music reflects on themes of loss, resilience, transformation and hope. Elsewhere Now will be available everywhere on October 24th via Ropeadope Records. Unless specified otherwise all shows are 21+
Do you have a minimum to be seated at tables?
There is a $20 per person to be seated at tables.
Are DROM tickets refundable after purchase?
No, DROM tickets are non-refundable and there are no exceptions. All sales are final. We won’t return or exchange the tickets. If an event is canceled, We will refund the purchase price or will issue a credit for use on a future purchase. Postponed or rescheduled events will not be compensated. All tickets are at will call. Please come to the door with the confirmation email that you received.
Are you handicapped accessible?
Yes, we do have an elevator for the main entrance. Please note there are 2 steps leading up to the elevated VIP area if you will be seated there.
